For several years KWPB has partnered with neighborhood associations by supplying them with trash bags, cleaning materials, and prizes to encourage their efforts within the individual neighborhoods. We celebrate Earth Day by painting houses, Central Park Benches and trash can holders, and organizing tree planting events, providing educational materials for schools, and public awareness projects. Churches and other groups are encouraged to contact us and let us know how we may assist them with supplies for their community beautification events. In past years KWPB has partnered with The United Methodist Church Preschool Program, Housing Authority, the Afterschool Program at the Winter Park Community Center, AKA Sorority, Starbucks, and Grant Memorial Chapel.
KWPB welcomes groups who wish to undertake adopting a spot of their choosing or ours. The spots include, but are not limited to mini parks and median strips. Responsibilities for these spots include weeding, planting, and/or trash removal. For quarterly efforts and a two-year commitment these groups receive city-wide publicity and a plaque with their name marking their spot.
