For over 17 years KWPB has established beautification and recycling programs for the city of Winter Park. In 1991, the City of Winter Park Commission proposed the establishment of a Keep America Beautiful affiliate. City staff was called upon to research and prepare the necessary applications to achieve certification by the state and national organizations. On October 27, 1992 the Mayor and City Commissioners passed a resolution establishing Keep Winter Park Beautiful as an official committee of the city.

The first major beautification project of KWPB was the renovation of the Winter Park Farmer’s Market. The City had funded the restoration of the Farmer’s Market building, but did not have the funds to renovate the surrounding parking lot. KWPB stood up to the challenge and implemented innovative programs that we still use today. Through hard work, volunteer dedication and pioneering programs KWPB was able to raise the funds to finish the restoration of the Farmer’s Market.

Today, KWPB is prominent entity in Winter Park. We organize more than a hundred beautification and recycling programs per year. In 2007 we cleaned-up over 1480 pounds of litter, planted over 3005 trees, and educated over 660 individuals on the benefits of recycling and environmental preservation. With your help we can set new standards and exceed our past results.
